Journal 2

When I was in second grade, we were first introduced to Microsoft Word. Since my mom was a programmer for IBM, she came in to my class and taught everyone how to use Word along with my teacher. We wrote short papers using Microsoft Word during our technology class. After that we were expected to know to to keep using Microsoft. During upper elementary school, we used PowerPoint for presentations and we were taught how to use Excel as well. The ISTE Standard that is most meaningful to me is 2.5 Designer. This standard expects educators to create unique and creative technological activities and environments for various learning styles. I think this is important for K-12 educators because it highlights the importance of accommodations for all learning styles. This way all students can learn best and they will be engaged and more motivated to learn. Not all students learn the same, I think it is important to give everyone an equal opportunity to learn in a way that caters to them.

Hello, my name is Georgia!  I am a Psychology major with a minor in Education. After undergrad I would like to get a Master’s degree in Marketing! I grew up on the beach in the panhandle of Florida so I miss the beach a lot! Basically anything that involves the beach or the water you can count me in! Here is a picture I took while I was walking on the beach at sunset last time I was home!         In elementary school, I was introduced to Word and PowerPoint and I would use these quite often. Throughout high school, some classrooms would have carts with Chrome Books in them. We would normally use them to log onto Google Classroom. With college I would use Blackboard or Canvas to connect to classes online.     I had previously wanted to go into School Psychology; however, I have recently decided to pursue Marketing. A good tool that I have is my knowledge using Canva and Lightroom apps to edit pictures and create graphics. I also have a family friend that is a professor in the FSU
